For the first time in 20 years\, the Mullingar Town Band is crossing the Atlantic for a high-profile concert tour and competition circuit across the United States. \nAs the sole representative from Ireland invited to the World Association of Marching Show Bands (WAMSB) competition\, the band is carrying more than just their instruments—they are carrying the pride of a nation. This tour is a celebration of Irish heritage\, musical excellence\, and the enduring spirit of Mullingar. \nThe Tour Schedule\nCatch the band as they bring the “Sound of Mullingar” to some of America’s most iconic landmarks: \n\nJuly 3 – Philadelphia\, PA – Salute to Independence Parade & WAMSB Competition\nJuly 4 – Washington\, D.C. – National Independence Day Parade\nJuly 6 – New York\, NY – Evening Concert at the Basilica of St. Patrick’s Old Cathedral\nJuly 7 – New York\, NY – Performance at the Central Park Bandshell\n\nA Legacy in the Making\nThis isn’t just a trip; it’s a milestone. Band Director Kim notes the excitement within the ranks\, highlighting that the rigorous preparation for local St. Patrick’s Day parades has served as the perfect springboard for this international stage. \nIt’s very exciting\, it is 20 years since we last visited America… we are focusing on our parades for St. Patrick’s Day\, and that will carry on to the US trip.Kim Magee\, Band Director \nWhy It Matters\nBy performing in the heart of the U.S. capital and the historic streets of Philadelphia and New York\, the Mullingar Town Band serves as a cultural ambassador.
