USA Trip - July 2026
Mullingar Town Band have announced an exciting trip to the United States to celebrate America’s 250th Anniversary of Independence.
The band will jet off to New York in July 2026 and travel to Philadelphia to perform in the Salute to Independence Parade on July 3rd before heading to Washington D.C. to perform in the USA’s National Independence Parade before hundreds of thousands of spectators. The band will also perform at the iconic Lincoln Memorial on the National Mall and then perform at iconic venues in New York such as St. Patrick’s Cathedral and Central Park.
Mullingar Town Band is a voluntary community organisation, founded in 1879. The band is taught music and trained to march by volunteers. The youngest travelling to the USA will be 10 years old! This is a huge honour for the band to be represented on an international stage with such high profile performances.
In order to make this dream trip a reality, Mullingar Town Band have undertaken huge fundraising efforts to get the band to the States and back. The members all pay for their own travels but the costs of transporting uniforms, instruments and equipment is a challenge.
Funds raised by this fundraiser will go towards:
● Transporting large instruments such as drums, sousaphones, baritones and trombones to the States and back.
● Transport colourguard equipment to the States and back.
● Purchasing a new light-weight uniform suitable for USA weather.
